Also Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the four-star chef of the eponymous Jean-Georges in New York, will open a restaurant and food market at the South Street Seaport in 2017.

David Chang's plans for expanding Fuku into his own fast-food empire seem to be underway. Without warning, the Momofuku founder opened a second outpost of his already booming fried chicken spot, Fuku. Fuku+ in Midtown Manhattan is larger with a bigger menu.
Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich Are Opening Another Restaurant, and This One Is a Hotel Trattoria
Speaking of empires, Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich are opening another New York City restaurant. Their Chelsea hotel trattoria La Sirena will be helmed by executive chef Josh Laurano, who had been at Batali and Bastianich's West Village spot Lupa.
