Chicago Special Menu Report: Independence Day 2015
It's America's birthday, and you know she likes to party in style. Celebrate the right way with these specials across Chicago:
Bohemian House
Bohemian House will be celebrating their own birthday as well as America's this July with a new entrée that is sure to be a hit. This "Chef's Cellar" dish is chef Papdopoulos's Czech-style take on traditional American barbeque. It's a smoked pork shoulder served with roasted sweet corn, crispy carrots, cabbage, potatoes, horseradish cream, and the restaurant's signature knackwurst. Make reservations by calling the restaurant.
The Duck Inn
Get your barbeque on in Bridgeport at The Duck Inn on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5. For $20 per person, diners can get a barbeque platter that include brisket, ribs, chicken, sausage, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, and pound cake — all the classic dishes you could hope for. Make your reservations by phoning the eatery.
Hash House a Go Go
Independence Day is on a Saturday this year, so what better way to start the day than with brunch? Hash House a Go Go will have a number of red, white, and blue specials to start the holiday off, such as pancakes topped with strawberries, coconut, and blueberries, and a Bombpop lemonade. Call to secure for reservations.
Pinstripes
Pinstripes is making this Fourth of July a real event this year with a four-course dinner and fireworks display at their Streeterville location. Enjoy antipasto; a salad; a choice of a filet mignon trio or pinenut crusted halibut; and housemade gelato, then get a great view of the fireworks over Lake Michigan. Reservations are required and can be made here.
Porkchop
Enjoy the fun of a July Fourth barbecue at Porkchop on Randolph Street beginning at 4 p.m. Along with drinks specials, guests can chow down on $3 sliders and $4 boozy snow cones.
