Dunkin' Donuts Offers New Baskin-Robbins Coffee Flavors

Starting today, Dunkin' Donuts is offering two brand-new iced coffees inspired by Baskin-Robbins ice cream. The new flavors will be Cookie Dough Iced Coffee and Jamoca Almond Fudge Iced Coffee. Yes, you read that right: two of your favorite ice cream flavors will now be available in coffee form. And yes, we're just as excited as you are. Not a fan of iced coffee? The flavors are also available in Hot Coffee, Hot and Iced Lattes, and Frozen Coffee Coolattas.

Last year, we were treated to Dunkin' Donuts first partnership with their delicious sister brand, Baskin-Robbins, when they introduced Butter Pecan Iced Coffee (Didn't try it then? It's just as tasty as you'd think, and don't worry, it's coming back today, too!).

Starting in April, a special Dunkin' Donuts sample truck (which will look like an old-fashioned ice cream truck), will be touring U.S. cities, giving people the opportunity to try the new iced coffees.

There's also a Twitter contest you can get in on right away: Dunkin' Donuts is offering fans the chance to win prizes for sharing how their own city keeps cool with Dunkin'. Beginning today, Monday, March 31, and continuing through Friday, April 4, you can tweet @DunkinDonuts, using special hashtag #BRanDD. Share the name of your city or town and how it runs on Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee. 4 lucky participants will each win a $50 Dunkin' Donuts mGift.

To learn more about these exciting new sweet treats, we checked in with Stan Frankenthaler, Executive Chef and Vice President of Product Innovation at Dunkin' Brands (now that is one fun-sounding job):

The Daily Meal: How did you choose these new flavors?

Stan Frankenthaler: We are committed to offering our guests familiar flavors with an appealing twist, and looked at some of our most popular Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavors and thought these would make delicious iced coffee flavors as well. We know the Butter Pecan Iced Coffee was a hit last year (and it's also my personal favorite) so we've brought it back, and we're thrilled to offer two new flavors this year, Cookie Dough Iced Coffee and Jamoca® Almond Fudge Iced Coffee.

The Daily Meal: What do you think people will be most excited about?

SF: We know that the Baskin-Robbins inspired iced coffee flavors will please any ice cream or coffee lover. We learned last year that the combination of ice cream flavors and ice coffee is something people love, and they are especially relevant for spring and summer. We think this year people will be excited about our newest flavors that offer coffee combined with roasted almonds and chocolate in the new Jamoca Almond Fudge Iced Coffee, or the sweet taste of cookie dough in the new Cookie Dough Iced Coffee. We're seeing more and more people drink iced coffee, and with these new combinations everyone will have the opportunity to try new iced coffee flavors that are fun and innovative. All three flavors are also available in Hot Coffee, Hot and Iced Lattes, and Frozen Coffee Coolattas.

The Daily Meal: Which cities can expect a visit from the special Dunkin' Donuts ice cream truck?

SF: The schedule is still being finalized, but we can confirm the truck will stop in cities including Hartford, CT, Philadelphia, PA, Boston, MA, New York, NY, Providence, RI and Albany, NY.

The Daily Meal: Baskin-Robbins flavored iced coffee sounds perfect for summer, but I know we'd love these all year round. Will they be available permanently?

SF: For now, Baskin-Robbins inspired iced coffee will be available through spring and into the summer at participating Dunkin' Donuts restaurants nationwide.

You heard it here first! Get in on these decadent, ice cream-inspired coffees starting today, tweet your hearts out to Dunkin', and get ready for a summer full of delicious, ice cream-and-coffee combination fun.
