Drunk Guy Arrested After Mistaking Police Car For Taxi

It's never a good idea to drive after drinking, so one Canadian man had the right idea this weekend when he tried to get a taxi after a night out at the bars. Unfortunately, he should probably have stopped a few rounds earlier, because the man was so drunk he mistook a police car for his taxi and wound up getting a free ride to the police station.

According to CTV News, the Toronto man had been out drinking for a long time. Getting a cab at the end of the night can be tough, but this guy must have thought he had a stroke of good luck when he finally left the bar and found a convenient, unoccupied taxi cab right in front of him.

It wasn't a taxi, though. It was a police cruiser that was being filled up by the officer driving it. The guy had consumed so much alcohol that he couldn't tell the difference, and he climbed right into the back seat.

The surprised officer decided to run his new passenger's information and discovered that the man had an outstanding warrant on him, so the officer arrested him and drove him to the police station. At that point, one assumes the man realized he was not in a taxi cab after all.
