Drop Hosts Local DJ Scene In Lincoln Park

At this new, upscale Chicago bar, you can sip on a drop shot while listening for the beat to drop.

Drop, which opened in early May 2013, is one of the newest bars to influence the Chicago music scene. It is a DJ-driven, late-hour lounge in the heart of Lincoln Park. Owner Arthur Knutson told us, "We highlight local DJs and artists with unparalleled service and personality." The bar is named after the moment a beat drops in the music, displaying its serious dedication to the music scene it is destined to promote. The drink offerings range from an eclectic wine list, innovative cocktails, and the unique drop shot list.

The drop shots are a variety of unique combinations of a shot in larger drink bases. The Fire Dancer, for example, is a cinnamon whiskey shot dropped into apple cider beer. The Slipper Drop is a shot of Sambuca and Irish cream dropped into fresh iced coffee.

The bar is decorated with a few tables and couches in nooks, all offering a view of the DJ booth. It is the perfect location to visit after a long night of barhopping; this spot is open from 5 p.m. until the early hours of the morning for all-night entertainment.
