Where To Celebrate National Tequila Day In New York City

Obviously we don't need an excuse to drink tequila. However, if you're looking for one, National Tequila Day is Sunday, July 24! Here are five places in New York City to celebrate everyone's favorite party-starter (and ender). Cheers to tequila!

Agave
With an extensive list of tequilas and mezcals from a variety of regions, Agave Restaurant and Tequila Bar is hands down one the best tequila spots around. Want to try a whole bunch of different types of tequila? Go for one of its seven flights and taste it all. Agave also has a fantastic list of margaritas that are delicious. The classic marg comes in several flavors such as prickly pear (a personal favorite), blood orange, strawberry, and mango.

Other innovative house cocktails offered are the Acapulco spice with house-made jalapeño-infused tequila, lime juice, and jalapeños; the summery Danny Ocean with Casamigos blanco, mango juice, and lime aperol, and shaken with Fresno chiles; and the Si Por Siempre, which is Sotol, pineapple, almond orgeat, and tamarind. And those are just a few!

Añejo Tribeca
Whether you're in the mood for margaritas or are looking to savor the tequila drinking experience with a flight of the liquor, Añejo Tribeca is the place to go. Go for a classic lime margarita with el jimador or spice to up with a jalapeño version. Those looking a more unique take on tequila can try options such as the refreshing Cucumber Crush with cazadores blanco, cucumber, mint, and lime and agave. For the seasoned tequila drinkers, Añejo features an extensive variety of tequila flights ranging $15–$50, as well as a menu of top-shelf tequilas to be sipped or accompanied with a sangrita. And just for National Tequila Day, Añejo is offering a Tequila Day Flight consisting of four samples, to include two highland and two lowland, for $23.

The Stanton Social
Head to the always-classy and chic Stanton Social to indulge in sharable bites along with a round (or two) of innovative cocktails. Try the summer sweet n' sour watermelon cooler with Riazul tequila, watermelon puree, ginger purée, and lime or the lost in Polanco, which is on the spicier side with a jalapeño infused Maestro Dobel, blood orange purée, and lime.

McCarren Hotel & Pool
For unbeatable Manhattan skyline views and a lively pool to kick back and relax at, get out of NYC and in to Williamsburg's McCarren Hotel & Pool deck and rooftop bar. Soak in the sunshine while you sip the McCarren Margarita, a classic drink with El Jimador Tequila Blanco, lime juice, and Cointreau. It's the perfect libation to sip poolside.

Daisy
For a sleek, trendy cocktail scene, come to the Upper East Side's gastropub, The Daisy. Order the signature drink, The Daisy, which is a tromba blanco tequila, shaken with St. Germaine, lime juice served up in a coupe glass with a lime wheel and a turn of black pepper for the nose. Or go for the summertime favorite, the Chatty Cathy, which is a mescal shaken with grapefruit juice, Cappaletti Aperitif, Creme de Cassis, and lime, garnished with a grapefruit peel.
