Doritos-Flavored Mountain Dew That We Hoped We'd Never See
Yeah, you heard me. We're talking about the nuclear soda drink and the chip brand that we just got over being a part of our tacos.
Here's the original statement by a spokeswoman for PepsiCo to the Huffington Post:
"We are always testing out new flavors of Mountain Dew, and giving our fans a voice in helping decide on the next new product has always been important to us. We opened up the DEW flavor vault and gave students a chance to try this Doritos-inspired flavor as part of a small program at colleges and universities."
Will this new flavor combination be a good idea, or is it just another marketing tactic aimed at Xbox users? While the general reaction is one of disgust, researchers have gotten some positive responses from their targeted demographics: college students and video game players. After all, YouTube star Rosanna Pansino made Mountain Dew Doritos Cupcakes, evidence of a food trend that might just end up sticking around. It looks like we're entering an era where chips and soda can intermingle in a single packaged product. Thanks a lot, PepsiCo.
Here's how Twitter's reacting:
Part of me wants to try Dewitos. The other part of me wants to live long enough to walk my daughter down the aisle.
