Delta Teams Up With Celebrated Chefs at JFK Airport

New restaurants aim to bring fresh food options to Delta's Terminal 2

Andrew Carmellini's French sandwich-shop Croque Madame is one of the new restaurants at Delta's Terminal 2.

Delta Air Lines is continuing to transform New York's airports, aiming to bringing fresh dining options to travelers. After the recent expansion of Terminal 4 at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, Delta Air Lines is now launching a new restaurant-driven concept hoping to transform its other travel-hub, Terminal 2.

Working together with airport restaurant company OTG, Delta has created a new food and beverage program with restaurant concepts from renowned chefs of the New York culinary scene. "JFK T2 gets an immediate upgrade today with these new chef-driven concepts," Rick Blatstein, CEO of OTG, said in a recent press release. "The ideas and passion our chefs have brought to the table are just remarkable.”

Some of the new venues to look out for include: Croque Madame — a French sandwich and crêpe shop by Andrew Carmellini of Lafayette and the Dutch; BKLYN Beer Garden — a beer and food bar “with a characteristic Brooklyn edge” by Laurent Tourodel of Brasserie Ruhlmann and Arlington Club; and Shiso — a Japanese eatery by Robby Cook of Morimoto, focusing on fresh ingredients. 

Besides top-quality food, Delta and OTG are looking to technological innovations in order to make traveling trough the new T2 terminal a pleasant experience: All the new restaurants will be integrated with Apple iPads to make it easy and quick to place an order.


Delta announces that "temporary versions" of some of the restaurants are now open, and that the full program will be launched by the summer of 2014.
