D.C. Beer Week: Best Bets For The 4th Annual Meet Of Brew Lovers

Yesterday kicked off the most epic of beer festivals, only fitting for the country's capital: the D.C. Beer Week. And since we already know how much those up on Capitol Hill love their beer, we imagine this to be the holy grail of beer events. So what to do during the 80-plus events going on this week? Thanks to the Washington City Paper and its comprehensive guide, here's a list of the best D.C. Beer Week events going on this week:

Ommegash It's Allegang Dinner: Good play on words, guys: The brewers from Brewery Ommegang and Allegash will be serving up some craft beer and food pairings worthy of praise. On the menu: swordfish club with a Interlude & Hougoumont beer pairing, fried chicken with Curieux & BPA, plus the "Beeramisu" with the three-year Black and two-year Adoration ales.

Big Love: When One Isn't Enough: A tribute to D.C.'s best breweries, Meridian Pint will host a tap-takeover with 24 lines of D.C. gold. The breweries on tap (and in casks): Mad Fox, D.C. Brau, Three Stars, and Oliver.

Solidarity Saison: The big-name breweries up above, plus Capital City Brewing Co, Chocolate City Beer, District Chophouse, and Gordon Biersch helped create a D.C. Beer Fest-special saison for drinkers this week, on tap at various bars across the city (Churchkey and Birch & Barley are on the list).

Coney Island Comes to D.C.: Yep, it's all the things you love about Coney Island, plus beer: Shmaltz Brewing Company will take over the Jack Rose Dining Saloon rooftop with beer, games, prizes, and live performers.

Mid Summer Night Barley Wine and Vintage Beer Festival: Want a beer experience that's out of the ordinary? Try four vintages of Anchor Brewing's Old Foghorn, plus more rare and vintage beers at the Bier Baron Tavern.
