Curiocity: Mike's Mix – Far North Mule

Every Friday, Mike Augustyniak picks up a new cocktail recipe from a local mixologist. This week, he's tackling the Far North Mule from Marché.

Far North Mule
2 oz. Solveig Gin
4 oz. Ginger beer (like Gosling's or Reeds)

Build in glass by adding gin; then add ice; pour in ginger beer and garnish with a lime.

Taste Test
This is the Minnesota version of a Moscow Mule, using gin as the liquor base instead of the traditional vodka. Bartender Jesse Held chooses to use a gin that is distilled in Hallock Minnesota by Far North Spirits. Pronounced "SOL-vey" (no "g" at the end) it has a mild flavor and blends well with the spicy ginger beer, which can be found in most liquor and grocery stores.

About Marche
Marché brings Minneapolis a brand new retail concept; a combination coffee shop, luxury market and full bar located in the lobby of the Lime Apartments. Communal tables plus more intimate seating areas are placed around the coffee bar and take out counter ideal for large or small gatherings. A wall of windows are actually folding doors that open up onto the large patio which overlooks the Greenway and adds seating for 60.

Locally owned and chef driven, Marché was designed to be an incredible amenity for the residents of the Lime Apartments and the entire Uptown community created by the Jester Concepts team.
