Kenwood Inn In Sonoma Re-Opens After Wildfire Damage

Last year's California Wildfires took out quite a few hotels and wineries, as well as thousands of homes.  One of the area's most beloved hotels – the Kenwood Inn in the Sonoma Valley, has just reopened after a multi-million dollar rennovation due to wildfire damage.

The five month clean up project included refreshing all 29 guestrooms and suites as well as updating the lobby, cabanas and other public spaces at the two and one-half acre inn.  "Kenwood Inn & Spa is unlike any other property in Sonoma Valley," said Scarlett Graham, general manager. "Our team looks forward to welcoming back longtime guests as well as introducing Kenwood hospitality to new ones."

The Kenwood Inn has often been voted one of the most romantic hotels in the region.  The quaint, Mediterranean-style resort feels much older than it is; like a slice of the Italian countryside.  The supremeley peaceful hotel serves as a stunning sanctuary and escape from the everyday, set amidst the area's mountains, surrounded by miles of vineyards and ancient Oaks. The stunning property offers villa-style rooms with separate regions for ultimate privacy.

In addition to the fire cleanup, the hotel's lobby has also been updated with new millwork, an oak and black marble reception desk, and a custom key cabinet designed to hold Italian-made tassel keys to each guestroom. A new, 12-foot antique Italian walnut trestle table greets guests at breakfast in the inn's Cucina eating area. The project was conceived and overseen by Michael Mohr, principal of MetWest Ventures, and executed in collaboration with SALT + BONES design studio of Carmel, Calif. Kenwood Inn & Spa is managed by Four Sisters Inns.

Additionally, a wholly remodeled spa will be completed in the summer of 2018 (guests can enjoy treatments in an interim space until then). The inn's meeting and private event space – used for many a gorgeous wedding, is also being renovated to provide groups and bridal parties with an expansive and elegant lounge.

This stunning resort, located in the fabled "Valley of the Moon" (the moon views are no joke) is truly a gem of the area, and its reopening is a great nod towards Sonoma's revitilization after the fires.  The immaculate grounds meander through the guest suites, three courtyards, a sparkling pool, two hot tubs and various fountains.

To celebrate the re-opening, the hotel is offering a "Passport to Spring" package with 20% off regular room rates, a $50 per person credit toward spa treatments (maximum of two credits per room booked), a bottle of wine, and a Sonoma Passport for two, providing exclusive offers at more than 60 premier wineries in the region (a $59 value).
