Community Appreciation Dinner By Organic Food Enthusiast In Denver
On Monday, Cultivate Colorado and partner March Against Monsanto-Denver announced the upcoming community event Art Appreciation Community Dinner, Examiner reports. The event is to honor the artists that donated their time to the creation of the mural at Cultivate Colorado.
There is no attendance fee at the dinner, but donations are appreciated. Guests are asked to bring GMO-free dishes that serve 8 to 10 people and a blanket or chair for seating. The dinner will celebrate healthy food, art, and community spirit. Music will be played by local artists.
The mission of the March Against Monsanto movement is to raise awareness about the health complications that could arise from consuming genetically-modified foods, such as cancerous tumors, infertility, and birth defects. Supporters hope to raise awareness and eventually pass legislation that calls for the labeling of GMOs on foods consumed regularly so people who wish to can avoid them.
The event is potluck style and will be held at Cultivate Colorado's Denver location on July 13 from 5-9 p.m. For more information about the event, visit their website.
