Coffee Shop Featured In "Girls" To Bump Out A Starbucks

Move over, iced mocha Frappuccino, it seems that the hipster coffee has won this time around. Café Grumpy, the coffee-connoisseur's cafe in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, blew up in popularity when Lena Dunham got a job as a barista there in the hit HBO series, Girls. According to multiple reports, the café known for its frowny-face coffee cups will be coming to Grand Central Station this May and bump out a previously-existing Starbucks along the way.

Café Grumpy already has locations across New York City in Greenpoint, Park Slope, Chelsea, the Lower East Side, and the Fashion District. According to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Starbucks' lease was up and big stores are prohibited from buying a new lease in the station.

"It's part of our effort to keep the space unique," an MTA spokesperson told CNN.

Fear not, Starbucks fans. There will still be another location of the famous coffee chain on the west side of Grand Central Terminal.
