City Tavern Opens Second Location In Downtown LA
The second location of City Tavern opened in February at Fig at 7th in Downtown Los Angeles. The restaurant offers an expanded menu and bar program and a larger inside and al fresco dining space than the Culver City original.
The new space features warm wood and distressed brick, large booths and pub style tables as well as an inviting cocktail lounge with outdoor couches and tables.
Chef Randy Montaya, formally of Eva and Sadie, is heading up the kitchen. The menu features a new chilled section included oysters, crudo and house smoked salmon belly. Some favorite Culver City dishes remain on the menu, such as the signature CT burger as well as the fried chicken nuggets, and some new additions including shrimp and grits and wild salmon with herb gnocchi, sage and brown butter sauce. Other menu highlights include deviled eggs, pork belly sliders, house-smoked salmon belly, pulled pork, pork pot roast and flat iron steak frites.
The Fig at 7th location is bringing a new nightlife element to downtown, with regular events including pint nights and beer dinners curated by General Manager Matt Meiers. The venue offers a revolving set of California craft beers and 28 taps that showcase local breweries.
