Why have a regular old Tuesday when you can have a Taco Tuesday? Head down to La Cocina Logan Square on N. Kedzie Ave. for $1 Tuesday special. That's right, one delicious meaty taco for one tiny little dollar. Each taco comes in a corn tortilla with your choice of steak, chicken, pork, chorizo or veggies. La Cocina holds the distinction of being one of the few taco spots in Chicago that offers vegan tacos, making it ideal for carnivores and herbivores alike. If you're not in the mood for tacos (however unlikely that may be), the menu also has classic Mexican favorites such as quesadillas, burritos and tostadas. As if you needed even more incentive, the restaurant also has a BYOB policy. Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day.

Summer is almost over, but that doesn't mean it's too late to cool down with a nice chocolate milkshake. This Friday is National Chocolate Milkshake Day, so take a trip over to Edzo's Burger Shop on N. Lincoln Ave for one of their special $5 shakes. Store owner Eddie is a culinary school graduate and world traveler who prepares all his shakes in an old-fashioned spindle machine, which blends ingredients instead of chopping them. The spindle machine's blending process works slower than a modern blender and creates a smoother, creamier milkshake due to less air getting trapped in the mix. If the shake isn't enough to fill your stomach, grab one of Edzo's locally raised, grassfed beef burgers for a meal that's both healthy and humane. Edzo's is open from 10:30 a.m. to midnight every Friday.
Date: Sunday, September 14
Coach Trestman and the Bears are taking their talents out west this week as they play the 49ers in Levi Stadium. Instead of chartering a flight to San Francisco catch a ride to The Anthem Bar on W. Division St. to watch all the action. The Anthem Bar boasts two colossal projectors (190″ and 150″), three 65″ TV's and four 60″ TV's all playing Da Bears. Ease your hunger with a Juicy Luicy (burger with Velveeta on the inside) and quench your thirst with their robust drink menu, featuring over 15 kinds of whiskey, beer and vodka.
