Celebrate The First Day Of Fall

To celebrate the changing of the season, head to the Grove National Historic Landmark for some outdoor exploration before the real Windy City chill moves in. Explore A Chicago Landmark

This Wednesday, take a tour of the iconic Chicago Theatre on North State Street. The "Wonder Theatre of the World" first opened its doors in October of 1921 and continues to show-case some of the biggest names in entertainment on a daily basis. Prince, Dolly Parton and Mariah Carey are just some of the legendary performers that have graced the theatre's stage over the last 80 plus years. The tour begins at noon. Children's tickets cost $13 and regular admission is $18.

Watch Blackhawks-Rangers At The United Center

Date: Friday, September 26

Grab a seat at the United Center on Friday as the Blackhawks host the 2014 Eastern Conference Champion New York Rangers in their third pre-season game. Watch Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Marian Hossa tune it up for the regular season. And be sure to keep an eye on newly acquired center, Brad Richards as he faces off against his former team. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available online starting at $52.

Swim With The Fishes At Facets Cinematheque

Date: Saturday, September 27

Looking for something different this weekend? How about checking out indie movie theatre Facets Cinematheque on W. Fullerton Ave. This Saturday Facet's is showing the independent film Swim Little Fish Swim. Swim Little Fish Swim tells the story of Leeward and Mary, a married couple living in NYC with their young daughter. Throughout the course of the film, the couple struggles to express themselves in an ever-conforming world. The film stars Dustin Guy Defa as Leeward and Brooke Bloom as Mary. The movie lasts an hour and a half with showtimes at 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Tickets cost $9.
