Spend An Evening With Ed Sheeran

Date: Tuesday, September 16

Ed Sheeran launches his own British Invasion of Illinois this week. The U.K. born singer/songwriter stops by the Allstate Arena as part of his world tour. Hot off the release of his second album, X (pronounced multiply), Sheeran is embarking on his first headlining tour in the U.S. The lead single, Sing, has topped the charts in seven countries and climbed to number 13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Sheeran will be performing songs from both X and his first album + (pronounced plus), which was nominated for World's Best Album at the 2014 World Music Awards. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $70.

Meditate Your Stress Away

Date: Wednesday, September 17

Meditate Yoga & Meditation Center on N. Lincoln Ave begins a new series of their level 1 "Learn To Meditate" course this Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. The series lasts 12 weeks and costs $179 dollars. Each session lasts 80 minutes and is taught by the center's founder, Andrew Shykofsky. Each session lasts approximately 80 minutes and features a 30 minute lesson, in which students are encouraged to share their emotional/spiritual ups and downs while receiving direct feedback from the instructor. Take A Book Tour

Date: Thursday, September 18

This Thursday, head to the famous Newberry Library for a free public tour. The Newberry Library has achieved worldwide fame for the prominent role it plays in Audrey Niffenegger's book, "The Time Traveler's Wife." Visitors of all ages are welcome, although a reservation is required in advance. Each tour features a quick orientation to the library itself, followed by a tour of the independent research rooms and a collection of show and tell items. The show and tell portion of the tour features items pulled from the library's extensive collection of books, manuscripts and maps. The tour starts at 3 p.m. and you can secure your spot by calling the library's office of events at (312) 255-3595.

Laugh And Cheer

Date: Friday, September 19

ComedySportz Theater is hosting another installment of their improv comedy show on September 19th at 8:00 p.m. ComedySportz is the longest running improv comedy show in Chicago and brings an unmatched level of audience participation and fun. Each family friendly show is void of foul language, while still retaining entertainment value for all age groups. The performances last roughly two hours and consist of two teams battling it out to see who can get the highest score on the referee's Applause-o-meter. Whichever team does a better job of interacting with the crowd while inciting the most laughter wins and takes home that night's coveted ComedySportz trophy. Get In A Round Of 18 At Par King

Date: Sunday, September 21

The self-proclaimed most unusual golf course in the world is currently operating on Fall hours, which means they are closed Monday through Friday. but luckily you can still get in a round of 18 this Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Par King has been named one of the top ten miniature golf courses in America by the Travel Channel and features custom made holes. For instance, The Sear's Tower hole features a ten-foot-tall replica of the iconic Chicago skyscraper complete with a ball elevator that takes your orb all the way up before dropping it off right by the hole.
