Top Chef contender and dumpling specialist Lee Anne Wong led the team of guest chefs who helped The Daily Meal launch its first-ever Silicon Alley Supper Club on Tuesday, August 5.

Tech influencers from startups all over New York City joined developers and food lovers alike to enjoy small bites from renowned chefs, and signature cocktails from Tobin Ludwig of Hella Bitters, featuring Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve and Don Julio Reposado.

Guests from Google, CNN, Studio Industries, Facebook, Buzzfeed, Mashable, Kottke.org, It's On Me, Krux, Food + Tech Connect, Tech Cocktail, ThriveMenu, and Blue Apron were in attendance. In total, nearly 20 different start-ups attended the first Silicon Alley Supper Club.

Chef Lee Anne Wong created a medley of dumplings from her upcoming cookbook, Dumplings All Day Wong, which will be released on August 19.

The chef, who lives in Hawaii and now runs the Koko Head Café, which she likes to think of as "a modern Hawaiian brunch-house," says she grew up with the same awful  take-out dumplings as the rest of us, but knew anyway that she could make more of the humble dumpling.

Her upcoming book will feature dumplings of all skins and sizes, and an assortment of interchangeable sauces that she hopes will become household staples.

Next, New York City chef Wes Whitsell served two variations of crudo: wild king salmon with horseradish and crème fraiche, chive, and smoked salt; and dayboat scallops with charred corn, cilantro, fresno, and sesame.

Finally, pastry chef Zac Young of the David Burke Group finished out the evening with two decadent desserts: chocolate hazelnut "Burke-n' Bags," and raspberry donuts with peach and Johnnie Walker Double Black caramel.

The Silicon Alley Supper Club will be an ongoing series where figures from all over New York City's start-up world will be welcome at The Daily Meal for networking opportunities and exciting food and drinks from prominent chefs all over the country.
