Charlotte Free Poses For Chanel Eyewear Campaign In Her Signature Pink Strands
Looks like we're going to need to jump on this pink hair trend A.S.A.P. Notoriously rosy-mane model Charlotte Free has been cast as the new face of Chanel Eyewear for Fall/Winter 14-15, bringing her youthful good-looks and rock 'n' roll attitude to the French fashion house. A runway model for the brand for a few seasons, this is the first time she has fronted a campaign for the label, but so far we're loving the images. Lensed by Karl Lagerfeld, the shots are chic, feminine and ultra-dreamy—like a blend of Coco and Barbie—basically the best of two worlds. Showcasing both sunglasses and optical, Free poses in pastel Chanel tweeds while sitting in a pile of—you guessed it—even more Chanel tweeds. It's a spot on interpretation of what we think heaven will be like. The only thing missing is Ryan Gosling.
The eyewear collection is surprisingly modern and pulls away from some of their more iconic looks for trendier options. Sunglasses come in cat-eye, XXL square, butterfly, and pantos styles while optical comes in the more traditional square, oval, rectangular and cat-eye frames. One of our favorite looks of the new collection (aside from Free's pastel locks), are the gem-studded frames that seem sweet, fun and lux all at the same time. Clear baguette rhinestones run along the arms of the glasses and capture the color of the frames which range from classic black to translucent taupe and gray. The double C insignia is hidden within the gems for added subtly—because when you're rocking pink hair and jewel-framed glasses, subtly is usually what you're going for, right?
