Celebrate Vermont In Stowe
The mountain resort town of Stowe, Vt., is celebrating farms and foods at the first Celebrate Vermont Festival from Aug. 23 to 26 at the Stowe Town Event Fields.
Stowe's 40 restaurants will feature special Celebrate Vermont menus. Highlights of the Celebrate Vermont Festival include the grilling of a 1,350-pound Vermont grass-fed steer on a custom welded trapeze, and a Vermont spirits cocktail contest.
Long Trail Brewing Company is producing a special beer, Holy Cow Ale, a mix of Double Bag's malty and caramel flavors with the taste of locally harvested Vermont ingredients, which will only be available at the Festival on Sunday, August 26.
The four-day festival includes a parade featuring Vermont-themed floats, forestry seminars, an outdoor art show for Vermont's aspiring artists, a special movie showing, a family-oriented vaudeville performance, and Stowe's 70 retail shops will showcase their made-in-Vermont products.
Stowe's hotels are offering free admission to the festival plus a gift bag filled with made-in-Vermont treats from Ben & Jerry's, Cabot Creamery, Green Mountain Coffee, Grand View Winery, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Laughing Moon Chocolates, and Sugarman of Vermont to visitors who book the $110 Celebrate Vermont Festival Package.
