Camden Hosting Several 'Anti-Mischief Night' Activities
CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – Officials in Camden County are encouraging kids and teens to forgo the traditional "Mischief Night" festivities in favor of other activities.
Camden is hosting several events in area parks that are meant to act as safe alternatives to the once typical acts of vandalism such a toilet-papering trees and egging homes.
The events are being held from 5 – 7 p.m. and include refreshments and giveaways as well as activities.
"The Camden County Police Department is transforming an evening previously known as mischief night into a celebration of community," said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr., in a release. "The officers have not only made their presence known by interacting with residents in the neighborhoods they patrol, they are an integral part of the neighborhood."
The anti-mischief night events will be held at:
Yorkship Square, Yorkship Road, Camden
Whitman Park, Whitman and Louis streets, Camden
Von Neida Park, 2900 Pierce Avenue, Camden
Pyne Poynt Park, 1000 N. 7th Street, Camden
4th & Clinton Park, 4th and Clinton streets, Camden
Sheila Roberts Park, 6th and Washington streets, Camden
Dudley Grange Park, 3100 Federal Street, Camden
Elijah Perry Park, 1800 S. 9th Street, Camden
South Camden Park, 4th and Jasper streets, Camden
