Cambridge Bar Saves A Spot For The Royal Baby

The world can breathe a sigh of relief; the new Prince of Cambridge will always have a throne at one UK pub.

A pub in the city of Cambridge has commemorated the birth of their new Prince by permanently reserving a seat, a highchair, for the Prince, according to The Drinks Business. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge dined the Fort St George pub on Midsummer Common in Cambridge in November, and when the pub's manager John Cecchini found out the couple were expecting, he told the Press Association that the staff was elated. "When the world found out William and Kate were expecting we were thrilled, having welcomed them into the pub just a few weeks earlier," he said.

Now, the spot where they ate features a high chair fit for the royal Prince, along with a plaque commemorating his birth, according to The Drinks Business. The table, of course, also features two seats for his royal parents. And if you were worried he'd lose his seat when he grew out of high chairs, never fear — Cecchini told the Press Association he wants to spot to grow with the Prince. "As he gets older, we will make sure the seat under the plaque grows with him. He will forever be welcome here and we very much hope the whole family will be frequent visitors," he said.
