We've got bad news. The raise you were sure you were going to get at the beginning of the summer still hasn't come, and it's highly unlikely that's going to change in the next month.
But while your Spanish dream vacation will have to remain just that, and that two-week Ocean City rental you keep verbally committing to may not be in the cards this summer, at least you're lucky enough to live in Baltimore. Translation: you're less than two hours away from a bevy of awesome weekend vacation destinations, none more underappreciated than St. Michaels.

While it's not exactly a substitute for your bros-only weekend in Dewey Beach, St. Michaels is the perfect place to relax and unwind in the midst of a wedding or party-filled summer, particularly if you're with your lady. Of course you may never make it to the actual town if you end up staying at the Inn at Perry Cabin, a breathtaking manor house drenched in class and Hollywood history: it was the backdrop for the wedding reception scene in Wedding Crashers.
Situated on the banks of the Miles River in Eastern Bay, IaPC boasts, upscale but comfortable rooms, a gorgeous pool area situated within a brick-walled garden, spa and fitness center, to say nothing of the spectacular lawn and views.

Whether you lounge the day away or spend it working out, you're bound to work up a hunger (or a thirst) that Perry Cabin can sate. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the sophisticated Stars restaurant, or make your way to The Purser's Pub, where you'll find comfortable leather chairs, an open-hearth fire, a garden courtyard and a more casual pub menu, not to mention top-notch drinks you won't find anywhere else in St. Michaels. If and when you do decide to retreat from this retreat, the pet-friendly hotel provides complimentary bikes to make the quick trip into town.
It may not be the booze-fueled rager of a weekend you had in mind; it'll likely be something much more pleasant.
