A favorite tradition for many in Boston is a visit to one of the North End feasts for plenty of food, music and tons to do in the streets of the cozy Italian neighborhood. This four-day event is the largest Italian religious festival in New England complete with mass and a feast that follows a 10-hour procession around Boston's North End. This city tradition dates back to 1919 when a group of Italian immigrants founded the San Antonio Di Padova Da Montefalcione, Inc. The Grand Procession of St. Anthony begins at noon on Sunday and culminates at 10:45 p.m. with the blessing of the Statue of Santa Lucia – a tradition that officially starts the feast of Santa Lucia. All throughout the four-day festival, festival-goers will enjoy live music from Italian American bands like Seabreaze and oldies bands like Smoking Joe and the Henchman. Come out and see why National Geographic called Saint Lucy's Feast in the North End "The feast of all feasts."
