Boston's Best Bars For Singles

It can be difficult being a new face in an unfamiliar city. Boston is no stranger when it comes to an influx of strangers and new people, whether they happen to be students, professionals or just folks looking for a change of scenery. That being said, sometimes a bar needs to have that nice variety of single people looking to mingle, so that everyone can feel at least a little more comfortable in their new surroundings. Here are five of Boston's best bars for singles.

Alibi is a cool and hip little bar and lounge located within the Liberty Hotel on Charles Street, right near North Station. It's a great place to sip or share a drink with someone, particularly for the singles crowd who is a little bit older or mature. The lounge has a great decor filled with various celebrity mug shots, which makes for some cool, fun conversation pieces, while the dark and shadowed corners make for a great hiding place should there be any single life success.

102 Broad St.
Boston, MA 02110

The Littlest Bar is just that: small, local and intimate. In other words, it's a great place to meet someone and not get lost in the shuffle of a hustling, bustling and crowded bar. This is a typical, hometown Irish pub with strong pours, friendly staff and a great lunch menu for those choosing to take a break during their busy day. Live music and a cool, low-key atmosphere make this little bar a recommended stop in the Financial District.

M Bar & Lounge is a hotel bar located within the Mandarin Oriental Hotel over on Boylston Street in the Back Bay. It is a high class and fancy bar and lounge for the business and office set, providing a perfect setting for after-work drinks, snacking or socializing. From the valet parking and coat check to the chic decor within its walls, M Bar & Lounge sets itself up for success as a singles mixer for those who don't mind spending a little bit of cash while they're out.

The Pour House
907 Boylston St.
Boston, MA 02115

The Pour House is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the aforementioned "Littlest Bar" in that this Back Bay destination is packed, packed, packed quite often, at almost any occasion. For singles looking to mix it up with as many varieties of people as possible, this is a great situation, as The Pour House mixes up classic bar food and drink (nachos, cheese fries and even a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast) with a divey, party atmosphere. This is highly recommended for a single guys/girls night out.

Boston, MA 02127

Heading to Southie for our last Boston bar for singles, The Junction is a low-key and local sort of pub. It's a quiet place for cold beer and warm dinner where casual conversation can be enjoyed over local music. The Junction is primarily a townie bar, but all are welcome to take part in the hometown atmosphere and vibe from the locals and staff.
