Every year, from September 15 to October 15, this country celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. It's a time to remember, honor and celebrate the achievements of those who have come from Central and South America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain and the Caribbean. From tasty Hispanic foods to unique art styles to energetic dance, there are many ways for the entire country to join in the celebrations. This year marks the third annual "Hispanic Heritage" exhibit presented by the Hispanic Cultural Center and the Beck Center for the Arts. Members of the Hispanic Cultural Center represent 21 different countries. Impressive works of art by local and nationally known Hispanic artists will be on display during this entire period. All Beck Center art exhibits are free and open to the public.

Reknowned gelato chef Gonzalo Egozcue has created one of South America's favorite desserts in dozens of tasty flavors. For Hispanic Heritage Month, he'll be featuring Hispanic favorite flavors like mango, coconut pineapple, coconut, avocado and passion fruit (also known as Maracuja or Parcha). Especially popular with the Mexican community is the queso fresco (fresh cheese). This relative up-and-coming Colombian tapas bar and grill is quickly catching on with Cleveland's west siders. During the World Cup, you could barely get in the place. Big choice – do you come here for dining or for dancing, or both? Eastsiders don't have to go far for fine Peruvian cuisine at this neighborhood favorite. Peruvian dishes are described as "extra zesty," and there are a wide variety of meat and seafood choices on the menu each day. But, come the weekends, it's dance time.
