The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) has provided musical lovers with the finest classical concert performances. The DSO celebrates its 25th year at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center. Jaap Van Zweden serves as the musical director who continually delivers the best to North Texas audiences. DSO continues to break new ground in performance excellence by offering a variety of concerts. The DSO season is packed with classical favorites, some of which include Mahler's 9, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Sheherazade," Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1, Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet," Berlioz Symphonie fantastique and Mozart's Requiem.

The Bass Performance Hall, a classic European-styled concert hall, is home to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (FWSO). Miguel Harth-Bedoya conducts the FWSO in accompanying percussionist Collin Currie in Composer-In-Residence Jennifer Higdon's Percussion Concerto. In his Ft. Worth debut, Spanish cellist Adolfo Gutierrez will perform Lalo's "Cello Concerto." Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Schumann's Symphony No. 2 and the Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 performed by Irish pianist Barry Douglas rounds out the season.

Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" with violinist Emanuel Borok is part of the Plano Symphony Orchestra's (PSO) season. Musical Director Hector Guzman leads the PSO in several musical compositions which feature The Romeros, known as the Royal Family of Guitar, "The Young Artists & Music That Is Out Of This World" featuring movie scores from "Gravity," "Apollo 13," "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Star Wars," along with winners from the Collin County Young Artist Competition. "Do You Hear The People Sing" is music of "Les Miserables," "Miss Saigon," "Wuthering Heights," "The Pirate Queen" and "Martin Guerre." The season ends with "A Grand Gershwin Finale" featuring pianist Alex McDonald playing "Rhapsody In Blue," "An American in Paris" and "Porgy and Bess."

Clay Couturiaux serves as the conductor of The Richardson Symphony Orchestra. This year features "A Night at the Movies" with music from "Braveheart," "Lawrence of Arabia," "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Rocky." Also scheduled are "The Great Melodies of Tchaikovsky" to be performed by the winner of the Lennox International Young Artists Competition. In a night of "European Masters," Vivaldi's Concerto Grosso for Strings and Harpsichord "Alla Rustica," Haydn's Concerto for Violoncello and Orchestra in C Major, Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and Mozart's Symphony No. 35 in D Major, K. 385 "Haffner" rounds out the season.

Robert Carter Austin leads the Garland Symphony Orchestra (GSO) in music inspired by Italy. Berlioz' "Harold in Italy," Mendelssohn's "Italian Symphony" and Tchaikovsky's "Capriccio Italien" are part of the GSO's season named "La Bella Italia."
