Chalk-It-Up Annual Festival

Chalk-It-Up is a nonprofit created to benefit arts education and activities for children. Funds are raised annually at the Labor Day Weekend celebration. Artists volunteer their chalk creations on behalf of the sponsors in the Sponsored Squares. The Community Squares are open to the public to create their own art masterpieces. They do request children be accompanied by an adult. There is entertainment daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. of various local bands, musicians and performers. All children's activities during the festival are free. Bring out your children and let their creative juices flow as they draw their dreams on the downtown sidewalks.

Backyard Bar-B-QueWhat family does not enjoy a backyard barbecue? Family and friends alike will enjoy a day with the grill going and everyone bringing a dish to share. The cooks from the group can take turns at the grill or sharing recipes. The children will need to be entertained, so if you do not have a pool, look for other outdoor things for them to do. Badminton, volleyball, catch or Frisbee are all favorites and, of course, don't forget touch football. Keep the children (young and old) occupied and everyone will have a great holiday.
