With a name like Beantown, you can be sure to find plenty of Red Sox and Patriots fans at the bar. Beer, liquor and food specials are offered seven days a week. The menu offers a lot of variety, and even a few Boston specialties, including a lobster roll sandwich, authentic New England clam chowder, a grilled fish platter and Boston-style calzones. This club in the Atherton Mill complex seems huge, but it's standing room only on fall Saturdays when the South Carolina Gamecocks take the field. Carolina fans follow every play on 30 huge screens that dominate the room from every angle. New York Giant fans gather at Icehouse as well, along with the backers of many other teams since all games available are shown on screen. This is a favorite stop for Panthers and Hornets fans, both during and after games, thanks to its location near the LNYX light rail line. The list of beers is extensive, with bottles chilled on ice, and the menu is a cut above your average bar food, featuring chef-designed specials. The big covered patio, enclosed in winter, has its own bar, TVs and free WiFi.

Buffalo Bills fans are some of the most loyal and avid out there, and Charlotte has plenty. Lebowski's, owned by a Buffalo native, is a friendly gathering spot for those from Upstate New York, and a comfortable spot for anyone who wants to watch games and talk sports. The menu is pure Buffalo, from authentic wings and haddock fish fry platters to the city's best beef on weck sandwich, constructed from lean, thin-sliced beef dipped in au jus and piled on a real Kimmelweck bun topped with caraway seeds and salt. The specialty drink here is the White Russian, a tribute to the film "The Big Lebowski" and available for $4 all of the time, but the bar also stocks a long list of beers from around the world with lots of local crafts on tap.

Big game days feature free buffets, especially when the Seattle Seahawks take the field. Tilt sponsors numerous local sports teams as well, from bowling and ultimate to basketball and volleyball, and it is the official bar of the Charlotte Rugby Club, resulting in a loyal crowd of sporting patrons.
