It's time to break out that beer stein and join NYC in celebrating Oktoberfest. From the end of September through the first week of October, a number of NYC hotspots will be offering German and Bavarian beer, food and entertainment. With Spaten beer, Bavarian pretzels and schnitzel, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Here are five places to celebrate Oktoberfest in The Big Apple.

Zum Schneider Bavarian Bierhaus
107 Ave. C
New York, NY 10009

Head on down to Alphabet City from Sept. 27 to Sept. 30 and join in on Zum Schneider's in-restaurant Oktoberfest festivities. With a German-speaking staff, four original Oktoberfest beers on tap, Riesenbrezn (giant pretzels) and Wiesn-Hendl (Oktoberfest roast chicken), you might mistake the bierhaus for one in Germany. Music will be provided by Mösl Franzi and the Ja Ja Ja's on stage and DJ Volka Racho. On select days in October, Zum Schneider will be hosting its first original tent Oktoberfest on the East River and 23rd Street. The restaurant will still be open during these festivities.
