First and foremost, The Continental Restaurant is a Greek restaurant that serves Mediterranean food every day of the week. The decor of the place easily translates into the sophisticated environment of a higher-end piano bar. From Tuesday to Sunday, piano music is playing, often on request, from a repertoire spanning decades. This makes for a very work outing-appropriate option. Of course, it is also perfect for a romantic date featuring a live version of favorite songs.

It is certainly not everywhere that one can find tasty Asian cuisine, a lovely lounge and piano music, but it is possible to have it all in the Boston suburbs. The Cheng Du Restaurant is home to the piano bar 157 Bin Wine Bar and Lounge. When not listening in on the classy, often jazz styles of the resident pianists or enjoying a drink at 157, Cheng Du offers up Chinese cuisine and is also home to the Akamon Japanese grill. Guests can easily pick and choose some wonderful food in two different styles before sitting down for some relaxing tunes and a drink.

Nick's Bar and Restaurant stands out among piano bars by often hosting a blend of instruments and different styles of music. There is even an open forum for songwriters on Tuesdays. Often with no cover, music lovers can come in, grab some casual dining, have a drink and listen to whatever is on. Do not let the appearance of guitars and singers be a deterrent. Most of what happens at Nick's is in true piano bar style.
Rick's Cafe
63 Mazzeo Drive
Randolph, MA 02368
(781) 961-3339
www.rickscaferandolph
Rick's Cafe is very much a New England comfort food type of establishment with dishes like fried ice cream on the menu. As for the atmosphere, it is a refreshingly simple version of the typical piano bar. A small piano adjoins a half-oval bar so guests can sit facing the piano and whoever is behind it. The piano is only staffed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Entertainment is limited to Keno and some typical bar television every other night of the week.
