The park may have had a sordid past, but recently it's been enjoying a revival and has become one of the city's most popular parks for family outings and community events. Katherine Rose Memorial Park is one of Mansfield's most beautiful hidden gems— filled with walking trails, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, a fishing dock, a playground and plenty of picnic pavilions with BBQ grills. If you want to bring your A game on here, you'll find four half-sized basketball courts that light up at night, which is an optimal time to play if you want to avoid the Texas heat.

This massive outdoor sports complex, operated by First Baptist Church of Carrollton, features an amazing array of family-friendly activities and amenities. Practically every sport is covered here, including soccer, lacrosse, sand volleyball, flag football and baseball. The facility houses two regulation-size basketball courts with adjustable goals as well. Additionally, there's a great basketball program offered for kids during the fall and winter. Pick-up games are ongoing through the summer or you can rent the courts for $20 an hour.
