This 27-acre park is located just off Freedom Drive on Charlotte's west side. One of the park system's top basketball facilities, Camp Greene has 12 tournament-grade outdoor courts, plus a covered court for bad weather. Other facilities here include a playground, bike and walking trails through a wooded area and a small pond. Ample parking is provided.

This 77-acre park located west of I-77 along Clanton Road offers a variety of outdoor basketball facilities, including three full-size courts, seven half-courts and a kiddie court. The park also has two soccer fields, a softball field, a playground, horseshoe pits and a large picnic shelter. The Arbor Glen Outreach Center, located near the outdoor courts, offers a variety of basketball programming including basketball leagues for all ages and teen pickup games set to popular music. Clanton Park is traversed by almost a mile of the new Irwin Creek Greenway, connecting the new park pavilion and soccer fields with the Arbor Glen Center.

This large park just off I-485 in Matthews has two outdoor basketball courts, lighted for night play, a rarity in the park system. Six tennis courts and five soccer fields are also lighted for after-dark play. Other amenities include two playgrounds, horseshoe pits, two softball fields and a variety of picnic sites and shelters. Miles of walking trails and mountain bike trails lace the park's 265 acres. You can fish or launch your canoe or kayak on the park's pond, a popular setting for local weddings.

Located east of I-77 at Sam Furr Road, this large park is maintained by the Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department. Its extensive athletic facilities include four outdoor basketball courts lighted for night play. The 98-acre park also has six lighted tennis courts, four lighted baseball/softball fields and two lighted soccer fields, plus two playgrounds, a picnic area and several miles of trails suitable for walking or mountain biking. Basketball courts and other facilities can be reserved online through the Huntersville website.

Conveniently located near SouthPark Mall, 72-acre Park Road Park attracts many players to its eight outdoor courts. Other facilities include six baseball/softball fields with concession stands, a playground, 12 lighted tennis courts, horseshoe pits and a volleyball court. The paddleboats are unfortunately gone from the Duck Pond, but you can fish from the pier. A pleasant walking trail winds along the shores of the 11-acre lake.
