Los Angeles is a great place to live in the fall. And thanks to the agreeable weather that lasts practically until Thanksgiving, heading out to sporting events is just that much more enjoyable. In addition to tailgating in shorts and sandals, the LA teams are pretty impressive and the arenas are quite stellar. Check out these five sporting events in Los Angeles.

Los Angelenos love their college ball. While there are a few state university teams, the UCLA Bruins are always a crowd pleaser. Whether your thing is football, basketball, soccer, baseball, volleyball or whatever, the Bruins bring it, both men's and women's teams, to every match and game. And after a $164.5 million renovation, watching the Bruins battle Memphis, Utah, Arizona, Oregon USC and Stanford this fall on their home turf at the Rose Bowl will only make it that much better.

The LA Lakers may have fans all over the country, but nobody loves them like their home city of Los Angeles. Noted as one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA with 16 championships under their belt, you can easily see why they're worth their $1 billion price tag after watching a game. Their home arena, The Staples Center, is just another reason why people flock to their games. Its world-class amenities and high-tech equipment are almost as impressive as the Lakers themselves.

It's been more than four years since the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) last thrilled Californians with their ability to hang on to a bucking bull for the most dangerous eight seconds of their lives. Top riders will compete against each other for a champion title in this edge-of-your-seat, one-day-only event. The venue is just outside of LA but totally worth the drive for a chance to meet real live cowboys and see them in action. Let's not forget the one-of-a-kind souvenirs for the kids.

Comprised of five teams, The LA Derby Dolls is an all woman skate league. Unlike the scripted "matches" of teams from the 70s and 80s (and Hollywood), these gals do it for real; full contact and full speed. Join them for a night and let rough and tumble babes on wheels named Broadzilla, Hellatrixx Noir, Agata Chokabitchski, Cirque d' Slay and Marina Del Rage (just to name a few) take you for a ride you won't ever forget. They promise a night of fun and excitement and perhaps some blood.

The LA Kings went through a lot of changes since they first formed in 1966 in terms of coaches, players, stadiums and logos. But one thing that hasn't changed about this amazing team is the players' drive to win. With two Stanley Cups in their possession, the LA Kings are a team to watch. With upcoming games at the world famous Staples Center, you'll be sitting on the edge of your seat until the very end. You can bet that the ice and teeth will fly when they play against Phoenix, Anaheim, San Jose, Winnipeg or any of the other games scheduled this fall.
