Formerly known as the White Rock Lake Marathon, the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon will be held this year on Sunday, December 14, 2014. The marathon route is almost a tour of popular sites in the city from downtown to eye-catching areas like White Rock Lake and Highland Park, covering 26 miles of the city. Runners can also participate in the half-marathon or relay options. Whether a runner or spectator, this is one of the greatest annual sports events in North Texas.

As traditional as Christmas dinner, the Red River Showdown, the throwdown football match between Texas-O.U. will be held at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park for the 109th year running on Saturday, October 11. There is no greater draw in college football than this game, bringing in thousands upon thousands of rowdy football fans, each year insisting that their side of the river is the dominant one. Filling up Fair Park, this is probably the busiest day of the entire State Fair, and one of the largest draws. Attend this football game and be part of an unmatched rivalry in action.

The Dallas Polo Club hosts monthly matches and events just south of Dallas in Red Oak. Most matches are followed up with other activities.
