Best Dinner Theater In Seattle

What's better than dinner and a movie? How about enjoying a meal while being fully engulfed in a mystery? Or how about dining on a multi-course meal while listening to the smooth sounds of jazz? Dinner theaters are not as prevalent as they once were, but they haven't gone away for good. Here are five suggestions for a good time of food, drink and entertainment all at the same place.

Teatro ZinZanni
222 Mercer St.
Seattle, WA 98109
(206) 802-0015
www.zinzanni13.net

This three-hour event includes a gourmet five-course meal and an incredible show of music, comedy, acrobatics and maybe a little magic all under an original Spiegeltent. Although the surroundings will be a little claustrophobic for some attendees, the action happens all around the tent so that every seat is a good one. Also, don't look the actors in the eye or you may be asked to join them in the center of the ring for some good old-fashioned teasing. The content can get a little bawdy at times, but it really is just good-natured fun.

Murder Mystery Dinner Cruise
Royal Argosy, Pier 56
Seattle, WA 98101
(206) 623-1445
www.argosycruises.com

The Murder Mystery Dinner Cruise combines fine dining, a theatre performance and an incredible view upon Lake Union all at the same time. Offered once or twice a month, Argosy Cruises hosts the show with Events on the Edge Productions for a night of "whodunit" intrigue. The show is interactive and much of it is improvised right on the spot. The actors plant themselves into the crowd, making it harder to decipher who are the attendees and who are the actors. The performance includes a Northwest-inspired meal including beverages.

The Triple Door
216 Union St.
Seattle, WA 98101
(206) 838-4333
www.thetripledoor.net

Set in a venue that resembles an old supper club, The Triple Door features a variety of musical entertainment every night of the week for a truly different experience each time you come. The acts featured span from big band to modern band and salsa to southern gospel. The main room is set up with half-moon booths with a clear view of the stage regardless of where you are sitting. The excellent food is created from the Wild Ginger restaurant next door. It's a truly classy experience.

The Rendezvous Restaurant and Lounge
2322 2nd Ave.
Seattle, WA 98121
(206) 441-5823
www.jewelboxtheater.com

Featuring a different show every night of the week, the entertainment at The Rendezvous at the Jewelbox Theater varies greatly. One night it could be presenting a theatrical production based on the quirks of family, the next night it might hold a comedy open mic and the next night could be dedicated to a risqué burlesque show. So, the rule of thumb here is to check out the calendar ahead of time. The Rendezvous has been entertaining since 1927 and features a menu of handcrafted burgers, local beers and fine cocktails.

The Dinner Detective
Hotel Deca
4507 Brooklyn Ave. N.E.
Seattle, WA 98105
(866) 496-0535
www.thedinnerdetective.com

Creating stories ripped from the headlines of today's paper, The Dinner Detective is an interactive dinner theatre experience where everyone is a suspect and anyone could be the killer...even you. Currently the largest murder mystery dinner shows in the U. S., The Dinner Detective was created on three ideals: no hokey costumes, lame scenarios or campy dialogue. The murder is served with a three-course meal, with a choice of entrees and includes appetizers.
