The Cleveland Botanical Garden is open year-round so visitors can enjoy the 10 acres of outdoor gardens and the 18,000-square-foot glasshouse. There are 11 different gardens, all featuring different types of unique flowers and plants. The Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse mimics a Costa Rican rainforest and Madagascar desert, with not only rare plants, and animals as well. Admission is $11 for adults, $8 for children and hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Schoepfle Garden is a part of the Lorain County Metro Parks in Birmingham, Ohio. Located on 70 acres filled with botanical gardens, ponds and natural woodland, the Schoepfle Garden lies right alongside of the Vermilion River. The Formal Garden, the Shade Garden and the Children's Garden are just a few of the must-sees at Schoepfle Garden. Gorgeous flowers, plants and trees decorate the grounds of Schoepfle. Visitors can take a guided tour or walk around on their own. The gardens are open daily and admission is free.

Stan Hywet Gardens can be found on 70 acres of land that adorn the grounds of a 65-room mansion. The 10 charming gardens include an English Garden, Japanese Garden, the Lagoon, the Breakfast Room Garden and more. Molly's Cafe is a great place to stop in for a snack or lunch after your tour. There are a wide array of special exhibits and events that take place throughout the year at Stan Hywet. Stan Hywet is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from April 1 to December 30. The Holden Arboretum in Kirtland was established in 1931 and has approximately 120,000 plants. Situated on 3,600 acres, Holden has over 20 miles of walking trails, 12 unique gardens and 20 lakes and ponds. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., each season at Holden offers something different. Check the website for special events and tours that take place throughout the year. Admission is $10 for adults, $4 for children ages six through 18 and free for kids age five and under.

The Cleveland Cultural Gardens (CCG), located within Cleveland's Rockefeller Park, are more than just your average botanical gardens. The goal of the CCG is to represent the history of 20th-century America through the extraordinary gardens. As you take in the beauty of the gardens, you will also acquire knowledge on cultural heroes that are matched with each garden. The Indian Garden, Albanian Cultural Garden, Greek Garden, African American Garden, Chinese Garden and Irish Garden are just a small sample of the 29 different gardens. Strolling through all of the gardens will take you on a three-mile journey.
