Ever need to blow off some steam? There's no better way to do it than at the local batting cages where you can whack away your worries and take it all out on the ball. When it comes to the best batting cages in Los Angeles, there's no better person to ask than Stefanie Trutanic. She's the former head JV coach at Torrance High School and the current president of South Bay LA Fastpitch, the first-ever adult women's fastpitch softball league in Los Angeles. With more than 20 years of experience playing ball, Trutanic can definitely tell you where to find the best batting cages in Los Angeles. Here are the top five.

"A good batting cage isn't just lanes and machines that throw bullpen," says Trutanic. "An ideal batting cage caters to both baseball and softball. Both games are huge in the U.S., so you need nice, organized facilities and equipment for both with experienced staff, players or ex-players who are just as passionate about the game as their customers and can answer questions about equipment, give tips or even provide training sessions." There's no better place that fits these parameters than On Deck Batting Cages, Trutanic's favorite batting cage in town. On Deck caters to both baseball and softball in a nice facility that provides all of the equipment and hitting tools you need to get your reps in.

"Training at a batting cage provides you with all of the necessary equipment and time to get those reps in," says the softball development officer for Auckland Softball Association. Like On Deck Batting Cages mentioned above, South Bay Batting Cages maintains on-site exercise equipment for cardio and strength training in between batting sessions. With only three lanes, the intimate setting makes it a great place for team batting practices. The clay dirt in the facilities, rather than turf or cement, creates an authentic batting experience. You can even practice pitching if you have someone to catch for you.
