Once again, Shannon McCabe is throwing her famed themed Vampire Ball. This is an event that has been going on since 2009 and every year seems to outdo the year prior. The 2014 party will have entertainment as usual and, of course, a feast for the eyes with tons of professional ghoulish makeup running around. DJs and bands will be on site as well as full bars. As for the theme this year, it's taking on the form of the popular show "True Blood." Tickets are on sale online through the website for $25 and at select Spirit Halloween stores for $20. Parking is $5.

This will appeal to a different crowd as it's not a party but it is certainly a fun way to celebrate Halloween. Everyone who believes in ghosts will tell you there is no more haunted part of town than Old Sacramento. Check in at the history museum and take the Ghost Tour as you walk the streets of Old Sac on a creepy trip into the past. You will have the opportunity to see how people lived and died during the gold rush era and may even run into a ghost or two. The price is $15 for adults and tours run every 30 minutes during designated times.

The Sweet Spot puts on theater productions of pop erotica shows in many different cities as it is a quickly growing movement. This year, in Sacramento, it has teamed up with Laughs Unlimited to put together a show at the club. Obviously there will be a comedy show that night, but this is the Sexy Halloween Edition. Added to the festivities will be music, dancing and a burlesque show. Remember the bar will be open all night. This particular event is not for the faint of heart. This will probably be the closest thing to a horror movie in real life you will come across. For 18 days, you can experience three haunted houses totaling 30,000 square feet of labyrinth. There will be live bands and other forms of entertainment every night. You will also find a variety of food and drink located conveniently throughout the event. If you enjoy being scared while listening to great music, then this is something you need to put on your to-do list.

This is where die hard fans of horror gather to appreciate the art of being afraid. This event will have 50 horror screenings over the specified above dates.
