Los Angeles is known as the movie making capital of the world and aspiring artists of all kinds flock to it with dreams of making it big in show biz. While many A-listers are transplants from other states, there are many colleges and universities in LA that are home-growing their own next generation of stars. UCLA presents "The Old Woman," directed by Robert Wilson, considered one of the great works by Russian author Daniil Kharms. This production of the Russian avant-garde story of a struggling young writer stars Mikhail Baryshnikov and Willem Dafoe. You won't want to miss this legendary performance. There will also be an Opening Night After-Party immediately following the performance. Proceeds will support CAP UCLA programs and special initiatives in 2014-2015.

Pitzer College likes to engage its students on many levels by challenging their views of social justice, environmental sensitivity and perceptions of intercultural existence. Pitzer's evocative visual art exhibit of photography and voice, "Racial Imaginary" is a perfect example of how they open minds and begin a dialogue. Some of the amazing contributing artists are Amitis Motevalli, Dread Scott, Liz Cohen, Alice Shaw and Kyungmi Shin. There are also free lectures and workshops open to the public.
