Experience
Jennifer brings over a decade of hands-on culinary experience to her food writing. After studying at Valencia College, she honed her pastry production skills at Frothy Monkey, a beloved Nashville coffeehouse. Starting as an on-site baker, Jen quickly rose to oversee pastry staff across multiple locations and the complete buildout of a new retail bakery location, including space design and staff development for a team of 13 bakers. She developed artisan bread and pastry programs for Bakery by Frothy Monkey, mastering everything from early morning sourdough to delicate French pastries. As general manager at Bakery by Frothy Monkey, Jen established quality control standards and developed seasonal menu items across multiple locations. When she founded Spotted Dog Bakery, she combined recipe development with brand building to launch an artisanal dog bakery specializing in trendy and custom cakes and treats.
Education
Jennifer studied baking and pastry arts at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida, where she built the technical foundation for her decade-long professional baking and food writing career.
