  • Jason is a news writer for The Daily Meal. He's been writing professionally for about four years, mostly as a digital marketing copywriter.
  • After living abroad in France, China, and Taiwan for ten years, he produced a travel blog about his experiences in China called streetfoodjunkie.com which no longer exists.
  • His travel articles have been published in a small but fun magazine called Ningbo Guide in Ningbo, China. He hopes to someday publish his first fantasy novel, which he's been working on for a very long time.

Experience

Jason always wanted to travel and write about his experiences. He was fortunate enough to spend two years in France, two years in China, and five years in Taiwan, eating, drinking, and learning new recipes along the way, and visiting 25 countries in the process. When he was home he lived in Central California and that's where his heart will always be. He's been a cook, a waiter, a bartender, a dishwasher, a caterer, a wine sales rep, a cheese-slinger, a cheese and wine store manager, an English teacher, a blogger, and a copywriter, to name just a few of the zillion jobs he has had. He currently lives in Madison, WI with his sweet puppy, Henry. He invented the best chicken pasta dish of all time, and if you're lucky, he'll give you the recipe.

Education

Jason has his bachelor's degree in French and International Studies from Indiana University and studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France for a year.
