Referred to as the "space master," Sylvena Parker understands the true meaning of creating your own space. Parker's artistic intuition and design expertise have captured the hearts of her clients as she whisks them away into a world of exquisite décor from beach-inspired weddings to reinvigorating your current space. Parker and her Majestic Spaces are both located in Los Angeles. She lives in the City of Angels with her husband, is a mother of two and has three grandchildren.

Don't break the bank.
Decorating a bedroom on a budget doesn't require that you exhaust a savings account. Instead, Parker suggests using what you already own and incorporating small details that can change the entire look of the space.

Mix and match inexpensively.
"Turn your bed into a functional piece of art. Play around with different patterned bedspreads, shams and bed skirts that have color schemes that complement each other," says Parker. She recommends going beyond the "bed in a bag" era and buy individual pieces that you can often find in the clearance aisle.

Change your closet doors!
"Add drama to your room by removing those awful sliding closet doors that always get stuck!" Parker says to find a pair of extra long curtains or drapes, attach to a rod, and hang above the closet to hide the contents. "Not only do you now have full access to the closet, but your room also has a magical, theater feel," continues Parker.

Pop some tags at the thrift shop.
Parker says to enjoy redecorating and scour the thrift stores for that hidden gem. "Look for classic pieces like a vase or glass bowl, which you can place on your dresser and/or nightstand," says Parker. These pieces should visually stand out and don't necessarily have to be traditional dresser décor. For example, a decorative plate can hold your cell phone, keys or lip balm.

Don't be intimidated.
Parker and her experienced staff at Majestic Spaces believe that feeling comfortable with your choice of color palette, layout and general feel of your bedroom is what is important to creating a space that you will love living in.
