Redecorating your home or even just a room can quickly turn into an expensive project. Costs add up quickly, and often times people can't finish a project because they go over budget. There are ways to make the most of your home while not breaking the bank. Andrew Blank of Interiors by Andrew Blank provides some tips on how to decorate your home on a budget.

Andrew Blank has been an interior decorator for 15 years. He opened his own business, Interiors by Andrew Blank, 12 years ago. Andrew had an interior contracting business specializing in faux finish and wallpaper. Clients would often ask for design advice. Over time, he was doing more interior design work than finish work, and that's when it "clicked." He says the best part of his work is when a job is finished and all of the elements come together and the client is thrilled with the results. Andrew's favorite room to decorate is an open kitchen/family room. "It's where we live and entertain. If you are going to spend the money, this is where you'll get the best return," he said.
Here are five tips from Cleveland's own Andrew Blank on how to decorate your home on a budget.
Use Paint
Paint an accent wall a dramatic color or color block some features. An accent wall is one wall that is painted a different color or is finished in a different technique than the other walls in a room. This can dramatically enhance a room. Color blocking is a technique using solid-colored blocks to create a modern, dynamic affect. Currently big in fashion, color blocking has been used in interior design for years.

Add a Vibrant or Large Patterned Rug
It doesn't have to cost a fortune. Andrew found a great indoor/outdoor rug in a fun pattern that worked perfectly in his living room and only cost around $300. The deals are out there, you just have to have the patience to shop around to find exactly what you are looking for.
Use Self-Stick Beveled Mirror Tiles for a Wall Hanging
You can purchase beveled mirrors at any home improvement store. They come in different shapes and sizes. Once you find the style that you like, hang about 1/4-inch apart. Use large upholstery tacks at the intersections to create a finished look.
Use Window Treatments to Finish a Room
Window treatments are expensive. When trying to save money, look for tab-top panels. You can use large drawer pulls instead of costly rosettes to create a unique application.

Hang Artwork in Groups Rather than One Piece Per Wall

Stack two or four, or tile four or more in a grid. Try a gallery hanging with different sizes and shapes. Inexpensive artwork can be found at all home stores, or make it more personal and use family pictures.
