Airstream's New Mercedes-Benz $146k Interstate Makes First Appearance At Los Angeles Auto Show
Airstreams have seen a rebirth of cool — no longer are they reserved for grandparents and trailer parks. They've been given a luxury makeover and new models are cropping up all over the place, including Airstream's new Interstate model, which is making its very first appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show (November 20-21).
"The growing number of people who are inspired to get out and on the open road in an Interstate is exponential compared to when we first introduced this exciting product," said Airstream President and CEO Bob Wheeler. "Our focus on 'Best in Class' products and dealer support continues to be our foundation for success."
As the most recognizable RV brand, Airstream knows a thing or two about what their customers want in a touring coach and are now proving they know what the luxury audience wants too. Not only will the new Interstate include over 12 "Best in Class" Mercedes-Benz features and enhancements, the partnership results in a more fuel-efficient and safe way for you to travel the world.
With an enhanced hood, fenders, radiator grill, bumpers and Xenon headlights, the auto is far more aggressive and stylish than the previous model. It also has lane keeping and collision assist systems and parking sensors, making it much safer. The cockpit features a thick steering wheel and a Mercedes-Benz badged gear shift control, while one will find plank-style vinyl flooring and suede walls in the cabin.
MSRP for the Interstate is $146,300 and $149,006 for the EXT.
