You don't have to travel out to the country to get a dose of fall fun on a farm. Greensgrow Farms, a beautiful example of the possibilities of urban agriculture, is located in the Kensington neighborhood of North Philadelphia, and is hosting their 6th Annual Subaru Fall Festival on Saturday, September 28th. From 10:30AM-3:30PM, guests can get in on all kind of autumn fun with music, crafts, workshops on beekeeping and how to raise chickens, and of course...food!
Edible highlights include a vegan cooking demo from Rich Ladau and Kate Jacoby of the acclaimed restaurant Vedge, a chili competition hosted by Cedar Point Bar and Kitchen, and snacks from Mama's Meatball Food Truck and a slew of other local food vendors. Activities for the kids (like a make-your-own terrarium!), and organic gardening workshop and live music round out at this little slice of nature in the city. The Fall Festival is free and open to the public!
