5-Ingredient Recipes for Cinco de Mayo
A celebration of Mexican history and heritage, Cinco de Mayo is always, obviously, celebrated on the 5th of May. While some people may know that the 5th of May is the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, a day of Mexico’s unlikely victory over French forces, very few people pay much attention to the number five’s role in the celebration of tequila, sombreros, and all things Mexican.
We’re here to change that. This year, we’re going all in with our Cinco de Mayo celebration by not only feasting on authentic and delicious Mexican dishes, but only ones that have five ingredients, or less.
We know, it’s a little silly, but if you look at it from a non-judgmental point of view, you’ll see that what we’re offering are fast, easy, and simple recipes for you to whip up for this year’s celebration. If you’re a salsa nut but can’t stand it when tomatoes are out of season (which is the case in May, just so you know), then you’ll love this spicy jalapeño and kiwi salsa.
