The House of Speakeasy is back at City Winery tonight with quite a lineup. Enjoy a night of cabaret, drinks, dinner, and great storytelling. Five writers will each take the stage for fifteen minutes to talk about everything from outer mysteries to successful failures. Tonight's participants inclue physicist-author Marcelo Gleiser, writer-broadcaster Natale Haynes, author-journalist Gail Sheehy, novelist Gary Shteyngart, and author Andrew Solomon. Come find out what they have to say about this month's theme: Inside the Lie. Event begins at 8 p.m. and tickets range from $10-$40.

The Film Forum is celebrating the work of Tennessee Williams now through October 6th. Tonight, catch the seductive movie Baby Doll, directed by Elia Kazan. Eli Wallach, Karl Malden, and Carroll Baker star in the 1956 film, which was adapted from two of Williams' own one-act plays. Tickets are $13 for general admission, $7.50 fo rmembers and screening begins at 8 p.m.
