The New York Gypsy Festival kicks off tonight with a live performance by Las Cafeteras. This Mexican band fuses traditional Afro-Caribbean music from Veracruz with modern rhythms and lyrically rich storytelling to create a new Urban Folk sound from the streets of East Los Angeles. This is just the beginning of the 7th annual concert series, which runs through October 17th. Concert starts at 9:30 p.m. and tickets are $12 in advance, $17 at the door.
