5 Best Restaurants For Dining During New York Fashion Week 2014
Fashion Week is in full swing! Fuel up between shows by heading to one of the restaurants listed below, all of which are offering specials in honor of the city's largest media event of the year. And, you never know, you just might see Anna or Karlie nibbling there too. By Jessica Allen.
Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Lincoln Center, where much of Fashion Week takes place, Bar Boulud is offering a $29 special. Monday through Friday, during lunch, this casual French bistro gives diners a three-course meal, at which they'll select from among such options as chilled creamy corn soup, fresh market greens, a quinoa salad with salmon, grilled amish chicken, sorbets, and strawberry coulis. If it's not too beasty out, snag a seat in the outdoor terrace and soak up summer's last rays.
Ed's Chowder House

In honor of Fashion Week, Ed's Chowder House has several specials. You can get a glass of house white or house red wine for just $8. During lunch and brunch, you can get three courses for just $25. There's also a prix fixe dinner for $38. Chef Ed Brown seeks to bring "...Montauk to the heart of Manhattan" through his seafood-heavy menu, including salmon sliders, fish-n-chips, crispy calamari, shellfish platters, steamed mussels, and not one, not two, but four types of chowder.

feelfood, an organic juice and healthy food restaurant, got ahead of the game by starting its Fashion Week special on Sept. 2. For $18, you can get a juice, a main, and a dessert as part of the Greenwich Village restaurant's "Fashion Week Ready" prix fixe. The menu, which "harvests the power of our best quality superfoods to have you feeling and looking your best," offers such options as summer punch and watermelon rose to drink, with kale salad, chia pudding, and yogurt to eat.
Nougatine

Add a spot of low-key elegance to your Fashion Week with a meal at Nougatine (Nougatine is the more casual offshoot of Jean-Georges). Located inside the Trump International Hotel & Tower, this seasonal, market-driven restaurant has two Fashion Week specials: a three-course prix fixe at lunch for $38 and a five-course prix fixe at dinner for $88. Popular dishes include watermelon and goat cheese salad, peekytoe crab cake, and rigatoni with meatballs (just don't get any on your duds).
The Smith, an American brasserie, takes seriously your mom's reminder re. breakfast: it really is the most important meal of the day. With Fashion Week shows starting as early as 9 am and running past 9 pm, you need to get a little something in your tummy in order to best absorb the colors, designs, and cuts you'll see at the tents. In addition to offering a three-course prix fixe during lunch for $27, you'll get a sparkling morning punch free with any breakfast entree, such as vanilla bean French toast or eggs Benedict.
